Angibault Mill
Montipouret

(JPG) It’s countryside setting includes a [seven hectare] meadow with several hundred year old oak trees, through which runs the Vauvre. This river, which flows into the Indre, feeds the millstream which turns the mill’s water wheel. Inside, you can see the whole mechanism lovingly restored, as well as an exhibition on the life of a miller.
“Because there is in our valley a pretty mill which goes by the name of Angibault ... a wild corner of paradise that I and my children discovered in 1844...” George Sand. This is the actual mill where her novel Le Meunier d’Angibault (The Miller of Angibault) is set. Activities, picnic area, excellent fishing, hall and facilities for country fêtes.

Feel free to wander through the grounds.
